Post Office Train

This Post Office train is on display at the Postal College in Kunitachi, Tokyo.

There is a small gallery showing old photos and route maps.

These photos are from 1905.

And this route map shows the extent of operations in 1924.

There are a few interesting details, like this JNR ashtray.

And of course there is a toilet.

It's a lovely blue colour on the outside.

Just ask the security guards at the gate and they'll open it up for you to see inside.

It's an excellent piece of railway history.
