Kofuku Station in Hokkaido was in operation from 1956 until 1987. It's probably Japan's best known former railway station.

Buy a ticket and pin it to the wall, ceiling, window frame, bench, anywhere you can find.

Kofuku can be translated as "happiness". So who wouldn't want to buy a ticket to Happiness?

As I was leaving, two coach loads of tourists arrived. It's certainly a big draw to the area and is a vital piece of the local economy.
